Already back in the saddle of the Star Wars universe is Mark Hamill, Harrison and Carrie Fisher. Another familiar face throwing his name into the ring is Ray Park, who played the fantastically badass Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.
Asked by MTV on whether he’d be open to a return to the series, Park said, “Just give me food and water, and I’m there.
On a side note, the actor/stuntman/martial artist was asked about whether there was any possibility of him returning to play Toad in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Sadly, this won’t be happening, with Park saying, “I went and saw Patrick Stewart because I love him and respect him a lot. He was saying he just got back from shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past. I said, ‘Ah damn, you already filmed it so there’s no way I’m going to be in it!'”
How a Darth Maul return/resurrection/cloning would be explained remains to be seen, but personally I’d love to see it happen. It was such a shame to see such a brilliant bad guy killed off after such minimal screen time.
Star Wars: Episode VII is currently on track for a summer 2015 release, whilst X-Men: Days of Future Past is released on 23rd May, 2014.
