The LA Times is reporting that a Day of the Dead remake is in the works. Lati Grobman and Christa Campbell have purchased the rights to remake George A. Romero’s 1985 film.
You may recall that an apparent Day of the Dead remake of sorts was released back in 2008. This film was originally planned as a remake, but ended up changing a lot of the original material and going in a different direction. A point of note, Campbell actually appeared in this 2008 version.
Speaking of the new remake, Campbell said, “We want to keep it as close to the Romero version as possible to make sure that his fans are happy. These are not going to be zombies climbing walls and doing back flips like in World War Z.”
Campbell Grobman Films was also recently involved in this year’s Texas Chainsaw 3D, which you can find a review of here.
