Similar stories came out a few months ago, but it’s now been confirmed by the guys at Comic Book Movies as to what the post-credits scene will be for James Mangold’s The Wolverine. Be warned, click away now if you want to avoid spoilers.
The scene starts with Logan walking through an airport two years after the events of The Wolverine. Suddenly, all of the metal detectors at the airport start to go crazy. Wolverine turns around to be greeted by Ian McKellen’s Magneto. Magneto warns Logan of the impending threat of an enemy that is looking to wipe out all mutants, and asks him to join him in this battle. Wolverine declines the offer and asks why he should even consider it. At this point, all of the police and civilians surrounding the characters freeze, with Patrick Stewart’s Professor X rolling into frame, who then begins to try to convince Wolverine to join them.
So, as I said, a similar scene was rumoured a few months back now. Obviously, this seems to be leading in to Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which will hit screens next year.
In the meantime, The Wolverine is released on Thursday. I’ve already got my ticket booked, so expect a review next week.
