Best known for his role in The Expendables series, Terry Crews has revealed how he’d like to get on board with one of the upcoming Marvel films. Speaking to Newsarama, the actor revealed he’s got two particular roles in mind.

Crews said, “One character I always thought I could play is The Thing from Fantastic Four. Another character I’ve always loved as a fan is Colossus. If there was a may to make that happen that worked, I would love to be Colossus.

He then added, “You can’t make President; the people make you the President. If people want me to be a part of this superhero genre, it’ll happen. People get what they want.”

Crews even went as far as suggesting creating his own hero, saying, “I feel like we need to make new superheroes, African-American superheroes, that people would accept. Whatever I do, it has to be right – for me, for the character, and for the fans.”

In terms of getting his wish, Josh Trank is currently developing a Fantastic Four reboot at 20th Century Fox, which has not yet got to the casting stage. That means that the role of The Thing is available. As for Colossus, Daniel Cudmore is returning to the role for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, due for a release next year.

If we look outside of The Thing and Colossus, Crews does talk about African-America heroes. There’s been heavy talk of the Black Panther appearing in Marvel/Disney’s series of films at some point, and the same can be said of Luke Cage, aka Powerman.
