Deadline is reporting that director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman are both in talks to return for a third Wolverine solo film. The pair previously worked together on this year’s The Wolverine. Mangold is currently working on a script, with Lauren Shuler Donner also returning in a producing role. No official plot details are known at this point.
The Wolverine is the second-highest grossing film of the X-Men films to date, coming in behind X-Men: The Last Stand. Mangold’s film grossed $413.6 million at the worldwide box office, which put it just behind The Last Stand‘s $459,4 million.
Including the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, this third Logan solo film would mark Jackman’s eighth outing as Wolverine.
