Whilst I’m still not sold on the planned Terminator film, mainly because it’s heavily rumoured to be a reboot, I do take some solace that Game of Thrones and Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor is helming the project. Adding further to the reboot talk, The Hollywood Reporter has news on three actresses that have all had talks to play the role of Sarah Connor. Apparently, Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke, 21 Jump Street‘s Brie Larson, and About Time‘s Margot Robbie are the names in question.
It’s also been confirmed that John Conner and Kyle Reese are to appear in the film, with Tron: Legacy‘s Garrett Hedlund in talks for that particular role. As for John Conner, Alan Taylor has already said he’d love to have Tom Hardy play the savour of mankind, but makes my head hurt in terms of the age of the characters. I guess we best brace ourselves for some head-scratching time-travelling shenanigans.
Regardless, Terminator is currently looking at a 2nd July, 2015 release.
Expect more on this as it becomes available.
