Image Confirms Harry Osborn As Green Goblin In “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”?

So, last week brought some new promo work for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Said promo work featured a poster showing Spidey facing off against Electro, Rhino, and what looks like the Green Goblin. The Goblin image was distant and hazy, and many people presumed that Chris Cooper’s Norman Osborn would be the one hopping on the glider. This was thrown into doubt when some leaked storyboards for the film seemed to show Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osborn turning into the Green Goblin. Well, some clever Twitter user by the name of Tupacca has produced a far clearer look at said poster’s Goblin. Make up your own mind…

Dane DeHaan Harry Osborn Green Goblin

Now, to me, that clearly looks far more like Dane DeHaan than Chris Cooper. Is he the Green Goblin, the Hobgoblin, or one of the various other Goblins? Depending on which books you’ve read, Harry has been the Hobgoblin and the Green Goblin, and then there are numerous other Goblins out there.

The Spidey sequel will see Peter Parker looking to juggle his high school graduation, his affection for Gwen Stacy and his promise to her father that he will stay away from her, and the small matter of a couple of supervillains – namely Electro and Rhino.

Andrew Garfield returns as Pater Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May and Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben. Joining them is Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn, Jamie Foxx as Electro and Paul Giamatti as Rhino. There’s also an unknown role for Sarah Gadon and Felicity Jones, with Jones confirmed to be playing a villain who is tied to the Green Goblin.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is released on 18th April, 2014.
