With Sarah Connor to appear in the upcoming Terminator reboot, it was previously reported that three names – Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke, 21 Jump Street‘s Brie Larson, and About Time‘s Margot Robbie – were up for the role of the mother of the saviour of mankind. Deadline is reporting that this list has now been whittled down to just two names – Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson. It’s also believed that Clarke is the current front-runner, having worked with the film’s director, Alan Taylor, on Game of Thrones.
It’s also been confirmed that John Conner and Kyle Reese are to appear in the film, with Tron: Legacy‘s Garrett Hedlund in talks for that particular role. As for John Conner, Alan Taylor has already said he’d love to have Tom Hardy play the savour of mankind, but makes my head hurt in terms of the age of the characters. I guess we best brace ourselves for some head-scratching time-travelling shenanigans.
Regardless, Terminator is currently looking at a 2nd July, 2015 release.
Expect more on this as it becomes available.

I’m not sold on this, personally. I just think Linda Hamilton was so, so, so badass, particularly in T2, but even with a curly ’80s haircut she was kicking ass. Hard to replace that.
