Director Bryan Singer revealed last week that 20th Century Fox will be following up next year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past with X-Men: Apocalypse in 2016. Vulture is now confirming that Singer will indeed be back to direct this new apocalyptic X-installment.
The same report also claims that the ending of Days of Future Past will set up the story of Apocalypse. It’s also worth noting X-Men: Apocalypse will apparently focus on the younger characters that were introduced in X-Men: First Class, meaning James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Charles Xavier and Magneto, respectively.
Expect to be hearing a lot more on this project going forward.
Firstly, though, we’ve got X-Men: Days of Future Past released on 23rd May, 2014.
