With Ultron rightfully set to dominate things in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Latino Review is reporting that the genocidal robot isn’t the only foe that the Avengers will be facing.
Apparently, there’s a casting call gone out across Hollywood to say that the movie is looking for a physically imposing man between 40 and 50 years of age. LR has gone one further and is claiming that the role is that of Baron Von Strucker, one of the higher-ups of the HYDRA organisation. It’s also being reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch will start the movie as members of HYDRA.
Von Strucker made his first appearance way back in 1964’s Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos. He’s essentially an indestructible Nazi, having incredibly powerful healing abilities that stop him from ageing and also can regenerate him if he does get killed off.
The same Latino Review report also goes out on a limb and says that Lord of the Rings‘ Marton Csokas and Twin Town‘s Dougray Scott are two of the names being thrown around for Von Strucker at present.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is currently scheduled for a 1st May, 2015 release.
