Video: Stan Lee Introduces New Footage From “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”

We always knew that we would be getting some new The Amazing Spider-Man 2 footage on New Year’s Eve, and here it is… complete with an introduction from Stan ‘The Man’ Lee.

At first, the more names that were being attached to Marc Webb’s Spidey-sequel, the more concerned I was getting. Then I realised: it’s a fucking Spider-Man film! Go into it with an open mind and take it for what it is. Who knows, maybe you’ll enjoy! So yeah, now I’m rather looking forward to seeing what Sony can deliver. Yes, it could go horribly wrong, but there’s also so much that could go right. Sony Pictures has the power to bring us something special, and we all know, with great power comes great responsibility.

The official synopsis for the sequel reads:

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a great conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realise that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

Lucky UK folks, like myself, get the film on 18th April, 2014.
