With Captain America: The Winter Soldier getting ever-closer, it’s now been confirmed by Disney CEO Bob Iger that the movie will tie directly to the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. The exact line used was that the Cap goings-on will “set critical events in motion” that lead to Joss Whedon’s Avengers Assemble sequel.
This follows on the back of recent news that The Winter Soldier‘s post-credits scene will involve the reveal of Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Widow, the brother and sister combo that will play an important role in Age of Ultron.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released on 4th April, with Avengers: Age of Ultron released on 1st May, 2015. Of course, in between those we have Guardians of the Galaxy hitting screens on 1st August. Whilst that movie will look to expand a little on Thanos’ brief Avengers Assemble appearance, it’s not expected to tie dramatically into Avengers: Age of Ultron.
