Adam Driver Having Talks for Villain in “Star Wars: Episode VII”

Variety is reporting that Adam Driver – last seen being linked to the Dick Grayson role in Batman vs Superman – is in final talks for the lead villain role in J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII.

As for the role in question, it’s said that it will be similar to that of Darth Vader in the original 1977 film. I’m guessing that that means he’ll be overseen by some sort of puppet master rather than he’ll have a shiny black helmet. The same role was also linked to Michael Fassbender and Hugo Weaving, but it’s said that Driver was Abrams first choice for the gig.

Driver is slightly unknown to some, although he’s best known for his work in Lincoln and Frances Ha. As mentioned, he’s also apparently one of the names in the frame to play Dick Grayson/Nightwing in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel sequel.

Star Wars: Episode VII is currently scheduled for an 18th December, 2015 release.

Expect more on this as it becomes available.
