Marvel Studios and Disney have made a statement of intent as they look to go head-to-head with Warner Brothers’ Man of Steel sequel. Yes, Marvel have made the bold move of announcing that one of their upcoming films will be released on 6th May, 2016, the same date as Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel follow-up.
The date had been pencilled in by Marvel Studios before the Batman vs Superman movie was switched to the date. Speaking to /Film, Marvel’s Kevin Feige said, “We’re certainly keeping the date there, and we’ll announce what that movie is, I assume, in the next few months.”
It was initially believed that Marvel may be eyeing the long-discussed Doctor Strange movie that the 6th May spot, although the strong word now is that it will actually be Captain America 3 that will be released up against the Man of Steel sequel.
