Ever since Star Wars: Episode VII was announced as being “a thing”, constant rumours have said that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher will be returning as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia, respectively. The actors themselves have seemingly confirmed these rumours on various occasions, although no official word has come out… until now.
Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm have now confirmed that Episode VII will being production at London’s legendary Pinewood Studios in May of this year, and that the action will be set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. It was then stated that the storyline will follow “a trio of new young leads along with some very familiar faces.”
As well as the return of these familiar faces, it seems a lock at this point that Girls and Inside Llewyn Davis‘ Adam Drivers is going to be playing one of movie’s villains. Other names heavily linked to the movie include Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o, Breaking Bad‘s Jesse Plemons and Michael B. Jordan amongst others.
At present, Star Wars: Episode VII is currently scheduled for an 18th December, 2015 release.
