The Huntress Getting an “Arrow” Spin-off?

Birds of Prey

With Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen already getting his own Arrow spin-off in the form of The Flash, Marc Guggenheim has been recently discussing the possibility of Jessica De Gouw’s Helena Bertinelli, aka the Huntress, getting her own show, too.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the Arrow executive producer said that an Arrow episode featuring Huntress, Canary (Caity Lotz) and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) teaming up is “on our show bucket list.” He then added, in terms of Huntress, “As far as what becomes a series, what doesn’t become a series, one thing I’ve talked to DC Comics about is, I’d love to do a Huntress series.”

He continued, “I mentioned this to Jessica – where we cover the year that she spent between episodes 117 (Season 1, Episode 17) and 217 (Season 2, Episode 17), from her perspective, travelling the world and hunting for her father. You never know, all things are possible as long as we’ve got Jessica’s willing participation.”

After appearing in Season 1 of Arrow, the Huntress returned in this week’s Birds of Prey episode. Having now aired in the US, Birds of Prey is set to hit UK screens in a couple of weeks. You can find the review of that episode here.

      • I think CW writers have introduced many different characters that could have their own spin-offs from Arrow. But very few would be successful. Like the spin-off they tried with Felicity and Roy.. it was called Arrow: Blood something or other. I didn’t even know it existed. But the CW has been hit or miss with super hero shows as well. They tried Aquaman awhile back and it failed. Arrow has loyal fans, though. So maybe one of the spin-offs they try will work.
