It’s been heavily rumoured for a few months now, but The Hollywood Reporter now has word that Jason Momoa will indeed be playing Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, in Warner Brothers’ cinematic DC world. Momoa is best known for playing Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones and for taking the lead in 2011’s Conan the Barbarian.
Just as to when he will appear, it’s said that Aquaman will appear in a small role in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The character will then take a bigger role in Snyder’s Justice League.
In Dawn of Justice, Momoa joins a cast that includes Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and unconfirmed roles for Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvery and Tao Okamoto.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently set for a 6th May, 2016 release.
