With The Expendables 3 set to open next month, a former Bond has now said that he wants in on the action. Speaking to ComingSoon, Pierce Brosnan has talked about how he’d like to get involved with Stallone’s action franchise.

The former Remington Steele said, “I said to [producer] Avi Lerner, ‘If it works out and you have a good script, Avi, you know where to find me if you still want me.’ I had a grand time in his company. Sylvester Stallone is the one that’s given us these wonderful platforms for actors who had had careers to go play and have fun and to entertain. To bring a bunch of guys together who saved the world, fought the bad guys, and put them all on the same stage, that’s crazy good.”

With Brosnan throwing his name into the hat, he joins Hulk Hogan as being another ‘maybe’ for a future Expendables movie.

As for The Expendables 3, the official word on the actioner threequel reads:

In The Expendables 3, Barney (Sylvester Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables – but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

Joining the names listed above are Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, Glen Powell and Kelsey Grammer.

The Expendables 3 is released on 15th August.
