Hulk Teaming With The Guardians After “Avengers: Age of Ultron”

Wow. Some pretty cool news, right here. Now, there be some of those spoiler-type things below, so be warned.

Hitfix recently paid a visit to the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron. The outlet managed to find out a pretty big spoiler, then they’ve pieced together the rest of the apparent picture.

What they discovered was that the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron will feature a huge climactic battle between The Avengers and Ultron. That’s not particularly groundbreaking. The big news is, during this fight, Bruce Banner ends up on a Quinjet that is on its way off the planet and with no way to turn around. The ship is said to be pre-programmed and can’t be stopped, meaning that Banner will only come to rest once the trip ends on its own. Pretty cool, right?

No this is where the detective work comes into it. Despite regular rumours of a Planet Hulk movie – rumours that Mark Ruffalo has recent shot down – this scenario will end with the Hulk landing on a planet that happens to have the Guardians of the Galaxy team on it. From there, Hulk and the Guardians will team up, with the space pirates looking to bring the rage monster back to Earth. This will be the central story arc of the planned Guardians of the Galaxy 2 movie. Once back on Earth, it’s revealed that this whole event has attracted the attention of Thanos, nicely setting up The Avengers 3; a movie that we already know will feature Thanos going up against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

As mentioned, treat some of this as rumour for now, but it’s certainly pretty cool if it turns out to be true.

    • I dunno. The two solo Hulk movies had been panned for differing reasons, and the character is so hard to get right in the scope of a whole movie based around him. Maybe how great the character did as part of an ensemble in The Avengers means Marvel see the benefit of something similar.
