“The Expendables 3” will be PG-13

Really?! Really?!?!?! You have a follow-up to two movies that were R-rated, brimmed full of some of the biggest action heroes of all time, then you rate it PG-13? Yep, that’s going to be the case with The Expendables 3. It’s officially been rated PG-13 from the MPAA for “violence including intense sustained gun battles and fight scenes, and for language.”

As mentioned, the first two movies were both rated R, with the first one for “strong action and bloody violence throughout, and for some language” and the second one for “strong bloody violence throughout.”

The official word on the actioner threequel reads:

In The Expendables 3, Barney (Sylvester Stallone), Christmas (Jason Statham) and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks subsequently became a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill… or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables – but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

Joining the names listed above are Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Harrison Ford, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz, Glen Powell and Kelsey Grammer.

The Expendables 3 is released on 15th August.
