Video: New “The Flash” Footage Showcases Eddie Thawne

Some new footage has surfaced from The CW’s The Flash, this time showcasing Rick Gosnett’s Detective Eddie Thawne. Long-time comic book fans will see the character as a version of one of The Flash’s biggest foes, Professor Zoom – the man responsible for the death of Barry Allen’s mother. Safe to say, I think we’ll be getting to see a lot of Detective Thawne’s shit-eating grin throughout the series.

The official word on The Flash reads:

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.

With Grant Gustin playing Barry Allen, The Flash also features Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon/Vibe, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne/Professor Zoom, Candice Patton as Iris West, Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Tom Cavanagh as S.T.A.R. Labs’ Harrison Wells, Michelle Harrison as Nora Allen, Patrick Sabongui as Central City Police Captain David Singh, and former Flash John Wesley Shipp as Barry’s father, Henry Allen.

The Flash will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, 8th October.
