In some slightly surprising news, a sequel to 2008’s The Haunting of Molly Hartley is currently shooting. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment are producing the film for a VOD and home release.
Titled The Exorcism of Molly Hartley, the sequel is shooting in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (home town of Chris Jericho) at present, and has been written by Matt Venne (Leprechaun: Origins, Fright Night 2) and is being directed by Steven R. Monroe (I Spit on Your Grave). The premise of the film centres on the now-adult Molly Hartley, who is under the possession of an evil spirit.
Given how The Haunting… only grossed $15 million across the globe, it was a tad surprising that a sequel was given the green light. The film will star Final Destination‘s Devon Sawa and Final Destination 3‘s Gina Holden, and will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and Digital HD at some point in 2015.
