Seemingly ever since Arrow debuted a few years ago, many have called for Stephen Amell, the on-screen Oliver Queen, to be transitioned to the big screen in some fashion. When DC and Warner Brothers announced Batman V Superman and the addition of certain familiar DC characters, some fans hoped that Amell’s Emerald Archer may make his cinematic bow. Added to this, the actor has often sent out messages on social media that some fans take as indicators of Amell’s Ollie appearing in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice or 2017’s Justice League. In addition to this, Amell and the Arrow crew will be heading to San Diego Comic-Con later this month, where they’ve confirmed a big announcement will take place. For those hoping that the announcement will be the Arrow featuring in Batman V Superman, prepare to be disappointed.
Taking to his Facebook account, Amell said, “I appreciate all the support and enthusiasm, but not everything I post is a cryptic indicator that I’m going to be in Batman V Superman. I’m not going to be in Batman V Superman.”
As an optimist, he only mentioned Batman V Superman, not its follow-up, Justice League. A guy can hope, right? All things aside, Amell has grown into the Oliver Queen/Arrow role and now wears that character like a second skin. Now whilst I’d be happy to see the character move to the big screen, I’m more than happy seeing his story unravel on episodic television. And, if I’m perfectly honest, I think I’d much rather an Arrow standalone movie than getting him involved with the current DC cinematic world.
Now we wait for Comic-Con and just what this big Arrow announcement will be. Here’s hoping for Nightwing…

That’s half of my logic. He’s doing more than well for himself on the small screen. Just keep knocking that out of the park and see where that takes him.
