Doomsday Set for “Batman V Superman”?

Don’t tell me that you thought the film was full enough already?

Yes, those rumours of Doomsday appearing in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice have reared their head again. The initial speculation started months and months ago, but now Bleeding Cool is reporting that one of their reliable sources has seen designs for a version of the character that will appear in the Batman/Superman mash-up.

The character of Doomsday was created by Dan Jurgens in 1992, purely with the purpose of DC running their ‘Superman bites the bullet’ story. A genetically engineered killing machine, Doomsday has appeared at various points since his debut, plus a version of him also appeared, played by Sam Witwer, in The CW’s Smallville.

If Doomsday does appear, he’ll join Lex Luthor as being the big bad of the movie. Then there’s the recent stories that Mr. Zsasz, David Cain, Morgan Edge and Amanda Waller will all appear as secondary villains in the film. Then on the ‘good guy’ front, we’ll be seeing appearances of some sort from Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg and seemingly Aquaman. And remember, this movie definitely not a Justice League movie, right?

Directed by Snyder, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is currently set for a 6th May, 2016 global release.

  1. They are really pushing too many characters in now too quickly 😦

And it isn’t that I don’t like Doomsday, he is awesome and all that. But are they forgetting that this is simply ONE movie?!

    • Yes!!!! Doomsday is one of the best bad guys in the DC world, purely for the film you could do on the death of Supes. I’m hoping his inclusion in Batman V Superman turns out to be simply rumour or at least a tiny, tiny teasing role for things down the line.
