Details on Newly-Screened “Avengers: Age of Ultron” Footage

In a pretty cool manoeuvre, Marvel Studios gave some fans the first look at footage from Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. During a Guardians of the Galaxy Q&A in London, Kevin Fiege surprised the audience by revealing a two-minute sizzle reel. The RadioTimes was on hand and has given a description of what was shown.

First up, Tony Stark’s Hulkbuster armour was on shown, going head-to-head with the Hulk. This particular armour was described as “where his normal suit is sleek as a missile, this is bruising like a tank.” There’s been plenty of rumours that the Hulkbuster would appear in the film, and this confirms it.

The footage then moved on to a scene featuring Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. It’s said that she was shown “fighting alongside Hawkeye on a ruined Italian street, but earlier in the real both she and her brother were locked in fancy Perspex prison cells.” Photos surfaced a few months ago that showed Scarlet Witch and Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye fighting side-by-side, so it seems that was for this particular moment.

Concluding the footage, fans were shown footage of the new Avengers Tower, which has “floor to ceiling windows, twin laboratories for Stark and Bruce Banner, and parking for supersonic jets. It’s reminiscent of the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier in terms of construction, with lots of shiny metal pillars.”

Whilst this all seems pretty cool, it’s expected that this footage, possibly with some new additions, will appear at this month’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is currently set for a 1st May, 2015 release, with a UK release dropping a week earlier.
