Following on from the earlier news that Peter Shinkoda had joined Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive Daredevil, now comes word from The Hollywood Reporter that True Blood‘s Deborah Ann Woll has been cast as Karen Page. Page is the secretary of lawyers Matt Murdock and Foggy Lawyers, not to mention a love interest of Matt’s. Thing is, she happens to bite the bullet, with this often haunting the Guardian Devil. Whether that’s the case in this show, let’s wait and see.
Woll joins a cast that includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Elden Hanson as Foggy Nelson, and unconfirmed roles for both Rosario Dawson and Peter Shinkoda. Daredevil is due to start its 13-episode run on Netflix next year, then the show will be followed be solo series for Luke Cage, Iron First, and Jessica Jones, with the four heroes teaming up for a Defenders mini-series.
The official word on Daredevil reads:
Marvel’s Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
