Safe to say, Marvel’s Ant-Man really has had a rocky few months. With Edgar Wright, who was involved in the project for nearly a decade, leaving the director’s chair, now comes word of some of the cast leaving. Not to worry too much, though, for it doesn’t seem to be anything too sinister.
Deadline has word that Patrick Wilson, who was rumoured to be playing Darren Cross in the movie, has left the project due to scheduling conflicts. Additionally, Matt Gerard and Kevin Weisman have officially been taken off the flick, too. It’s said that Gerard and Weisman’s roles were actually written out of the film during the last batch of rewrites.
So, that leaves Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and David Dastmalchian on board in an acting capacity. Douglas has previously said that the cast will be at San Diego Comic-Con, so it’s expected they’ll appear later this evening during the Marvel panel.
To be directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man is still currently set for a 17th July, 2015 release.
