Remember those rumours that came out a few weeks back that claimed Warner Brothers and DC have got a whole boatload of films lined up for the next few years? Well now comes word that Warners have plans for nine additional movies after Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
Before those films, though, Batman V Superman has been brought forward by a few months. Initially set to butt heads with Captain America 3 on 6th May, 2016, it was an interesting pickle to see which powerhouse budged first in this monumental “my dick’s bigger than yours” pissing content. As it stand, Batman V Superman has been brought forward for a 25th March, 2016 release, which gives it about 6 weeks before Cap tears up the box office.
Now, for those additional movies, there’s no confirmation on exactly what films they will be, but there is word on when they will arrive. The dates are:
- 5th August, 2016
- 23rd June, 2017
- 17th November, 2017
- 23rd March, 2018
- 27th July, 2018
- 5th April, 2019
- 14th June, 2019
- 3rd April, 2020
- 19th June, 2020
Off the top of my head, some of the projects rumoured for WB and DC were a solo Wonder Woman movie, a Shazam film, an Aquaman flick, a team-up of Green Lantern and The Flash, a straight-up sequel to Man of Steel, and an outing for Ben Affleck’s Batman. Chances are, most of those, if not all, will end up swiping up some of the above release dates.
Expect to hear more on this as it develops.
