“Godzilla” Sequel Gets a Confirmed Release Date

Before Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla (review found here) had even hit cinema screens, it was already seemingly a given that a sequel was to follow. It didn’t take long for a Godzilla 2 to be confirmed as happening, although it’s only today that we have had the details of the film’s scheduled release date. The King of the Monsters will return to the big screen on 8th June, 2018.

In terms of plot, nothing has been confirmed as of yet, although recent Comic-Con teases suggested appearances from Rodon, King Ghidora, and Mothra. That said, some of these may be held off until a third film in this latest Godzilla series.

Whilst Edwards will be returning with Big G, the director first has the small job of tackling the first of the Star Wars standalone movies, scheduled for a 16th December, 2016 release.
