A few weeks ago came the first casting news for MTV’s Scream TV series. Now The Hollywood Reporter has word on some additional casting news and also an early recasting.
First up, the recasting has seen Arrow‘s Bex Taylor-Klaus replace Amy Forsyth as Audrey, a role described as an artsy loner who aspires to become a filmmaker. Just as for why the recasting has happened, no details are known at this stage.
Elsewhere, The Final Destination‘s Bobby Camp has been added in the recurring role of English teacher, Seth Branson. A teacher at Lakewood, seen in the movie series, he is dubbed one of those cool teachers who takes an informal approach to lesson plans. Another name added to the show is Sharknado‘s Connor Weil, who will be playing series regular, Will Belmont. Will is the all-American star basketball player of Lakewood. And concluding the new additions, V‘s Joel Gretsch has been added as Sheriff Clark Hudson, who is deemed a good guy sheriff in the vein of the movie series’ Dewey.
These new faces join the already-announced John Karna, Carlson Young, Amadeus Serafini, and the show’s lead, Willa Fitzgerald. Jamie Travis will direct the pilot, penned by Jay Beattie and Dawn Dworkin, whilst Wes Craven, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad will serve as executive producers. Jill Blotevogel will be the series’ showrunner.
